Global Induction Motor Market Forecast 2035:

According to the report, the global induction motor market is likely to grow from USD 24.4 Billion in 2025 to USD 49.4 Billion in 2035 at a highest CAGR of 7.3% during the time period. The induction motor market is currently experiencing momentum in the world with the governments and industrial actors focusing on energy efficiency, digitalization and electrification in various industries like manufacturing, HVAC, water treatment and mobility. As an example, in September 2025 ABB India had invested more than INR 140 crore in increasing its low-voltage motor-making capacity and introduced an IE5 ultra-premium efficiency range of induction motors with a maximum reduction in energy losses to as low as 40 per cent of that of its IE3 counterparts.

Likewise, in June 2025 ABB also launched its Baldor-Reliance SP4 IE4-rated water-and-wastewater-specific induction motor without the need of the auxiliary drives and with half the losses as with previous drives by approximately 20 percent. The trends are indicative of integrated growth forces such as regulatory requirement of increased efficiency, increasing levels of automation and retrofit, and increasing process electrification around the world.

“Key Driver, Restraint, and Growth Opportunity Shaping the Global Induction Motor Market

The market is also growing at an accelerated pace due to the replacement of old and inefficient motors with smart digitally connected induction motors. Predictive maintenance and energy optimization are made possible by enhanced monitoring of its performance with embedded sensors. In 2025, Siemens launched digitally integrated SIMOTICS Connect solutions, which integrate cloud-based analytics and induction motor systems, and it is driving the use of these solutions in automated manufacturing plants.

The inflexibility of older industrial infrastructure with high-efficiency or sensor-equipped induction motors remains a barrier to smooth modernization. Modifications of old systems are often expensive because old systems need to be retrofitted or new drives installed. The challenges were emphasized in the modernization programs of ABB in Southeast Asia where factories were experiencing difficulties in synchronization when integrating high-efficiency motors.

The growing renewable energy and electric mobility platform is also a good opportunity to induction motors in the solar-tracking, wind turbine, and EV drive system. The move by WEG to electric propulsion applications in 2025 is an indication of how manufacturers are tapping into motor skills to meet the new markets necessitating sustainability, and also to balance their revenue bases.

Regional Analysis of Global Induction Motor Market

  • The Asia Pacific region has the highest demand on the induction motors due to the faster pace of industrial electrification, expanding manufacturing hubs and urban infrastructure. The emphasis on domestic production and integration of renewables by governments in addition to motivation. To highlight regional scaling to satisfy increasing demand, Toshiba announced increased motor manufacturing capacity in Japan on May 2025 to serve automation and EV-related industries. Asia Pacific has become the main center of high efficiency induction motor manufacturing due to favorable labor costs as well as strong supply networks.
  • The robust industrial retrofit, power grid modernization and reshoring efforts drive high growth in North America. In March 2025 Nidec expanded operations in its Arkansas plant to facilitate U.S. clean energy targets to bolster domestic supply to decrease reliance on imported motor parts.
  • The rise of the use of induction motors in Europe is also driven by the stringent EU energy-conservation policies and sustainability policies. WEG also in April 2025 increased its plant in Italy to make IE5-class induction motors, which is in line with decarbonization objectives in the region, and increasing demand of smart factories and renewable-powered facilities.
